One thing I cannot stand with couples in relationships today is when they've been dating only a few months and they refer to each other as "the husband" or "the wife". I can't stand this, you're not engaged, nor married, shut up already. Am I the only one who finds this just a little disrespectful that these idiots throw around the terms as if marriage really means nothing nowadays? And then they end up breaking up and it's like their whole world came crashing down and they've got nothing left to live for.

Yeah, I'm griped about it too. I mean, husband and wife got such important meanings to me, you know, you can't just throw them around like this like nothing.

Yeah and then it's like when they split up, the girl tends to go on a rant about how horrible he is and all this stuff. I feel like saying "Yeah well you're the moron who was calling him hubby last week....." LOL.

lol yeah, XDD I mean, before you can call someone your hubby, you should fully know him and hell, get married to him for real (like you know legal papers and stuff). like be legally bound to him and stuff.

I don't consider my wife as legally bound to me :)
Yes we're married but it's not legally binding,we stay together because we want to not have to :)

I don't think she mean't it that way man. :p I mean if you're married and split, you get divorced, you are no longer 'legally' bound to anything/anyone. :p Point being, these people aren't married, they should stop acting as if they were, and stop rubbing it in everyone's face making it like they are super overly happy, which is kinda nauseating after awhile. However, that's not the point i'm trying to make here. :p

I know what point your making and I agree if they have to have a name for them then Partner would be much more appropriate maybe.

I also hate it when someone says their in love when they've been dating for like 2 weeks.

I see this alot on my facebook and I agree it is really annoying, even to the point where you have them changing their status on FB to say they are married to whomever which really does take it too far.

I agree with you there xPurp, anyone whom has truly been in love with anyone knows it takes way longer than two weeks to feel anything near to that. Alot of them feel something and instantly think it's love then make a big fuss about it when it all goes pear shaped which is also annoying to read.

Yeah. I have a few people on my FB who changed their status to 'married' It's like "uhh since when? didn't you guys just start dating like 3 weeks ago? Why was I not invited to the wedding!?" :p Then a few months from now they'll be single again, but then shouldn't it be "divorced"? :p

Exactly! why not just say you're in a relationship? because that's what it is, a relationship. Unless you're physically married IRL and you've had your wedding, you're not married.....this goes back to people throwing the word 'marriage" around too freely as if it has no real significance or meaning to it anymore... >_<

Can't understand how people can do it, some people are too open with relationships it makes you wonder if they really do care about the person they have been with or if they ever cared.

That's sweet! And, a very gentlemanly thing to say.

As for the original comment, i'm just guessing those people who refer to their recent partner as husband or wife is just trying on the title to see what the other person thinks. Sometimes, it feels right, so you make it official. If it doesn't feel right, then at least you got to practice. And, you didn't make a mistake by making it 'legal' and saying the vows that might lead to divorce if it didn't work out.

Do they have kids? I can see them doing that if they had kids around.
