Anyone use a call blocker ?
I bought one the other day and slowly but surely all spam & scam callers are being added.
Hopefully after a while I should see a slow down in the number of these useless calls.

I at the moment am only using the call blocker option that is built in on my phone however my Mum did tell me about one she uses that I am going to take a look at which she says is brilliant for blocking spam callers.

Does the one you use APS let you know that they tried to call you?

Once they're blocked if they try to ring again they hear it start to ring then call is immediately cut of but at my end I don't hear a thing.
I've checked the recent callers list on the blocker but as yet no blocked numbers have shown but it's early days so I'll keep an eye on the list.

There is this thing that you can hook into an empty telephone jack that will stop 99% of all telemarketers from calling you. I can't remember what it is called but I remember getting in from a local RadioShack.

Ok been using it quite a while now and yes callers already blocked do show in the last callers list but if you don't recognise it and try to block it blocker just displays "repeat" so you can delete it from recent calls list.
I'm very pleased with it nuisance calls have fallen dramatically since I connected it.Best £25 I ever spent :)

That was me about the item I mentioned earlier. I think I spent $40 to $50 on it but it was the best money I ever spent. I would get telemarketers calling me every day and often time they would call me multiple times a day. So it was a relief when I bought that because it was able to stop 99% of the calls we were getting.

I had a full week of them calling me with the opening line "I'm not trying to sell you anything" which by then I've already put the receiver down.
I was under the impression that BT (though they never admit it) sold your number on to 3rd parties or am I wrong with that?

I also heard this myself which is quite shocking if it is proven to be true.

About 6 months ago I had a mass spam e-mails which went on for over an hour on my mobile and took hours to delete them all.
Since then I've had e-mails and texts for all sorts of things which clog up my inbox so we've got to be really careful in everything you do online too.
