Getting rather annoyed now, have been getting phone calls from the same number for over a week now answered it and straightaway you get a machine.
"If you are Mr ********* please press 1"
"If you are not Mr ******** please press 2"
So I press 2,so I press 2 thinking I'll get a human being, wrong :),machine then carries on to say "Could you please get Mr ******** to ring 0844 *** ***.
No option for me to tell them they're ringing wrong number.
I'm certainly not going to pay to ring them and tell them.
Firm is Wescot Debt Collection Agency ( I googled the phone number)

Hope they like talking to my answering machine :)

We used to get them, usually we get those automated text messages though when we get them saying they need a Mr ****** to ring such and such a number.

They seem to have stopped now though and have done for a while now so fingers crossed they stay stopped.

Any automated text messages to my mobile phone get put straight onto my blacklist so if they try again it is auto blocked.

I usually get the actual human and say something like "I am so sorry to have to be the one to inform you but Shawn died of a massive heart attack yesterday. Would you like the funeral and flower donation information?" LOL That usually makes them take the number off the list. However, its mainly sales folks since I really don't owe any debt that is outstanding.

I never thought of doing anything like that to be honest but I can see why it would work :)

Yeah, its a good time LOL. They ask who I am and I say I am Shawn's 16 year old son (even though I have an extremely deep voice) and they won't deal with juveniles, so they usually hang up and never call again :D

Ugh, we've been getting debt collections calls for someone named Terry S. since we moved to our "new" home four years ago. I think he's still giving our number out because there's been a huge uptick in calls recently. Most of the actual humans I've talked to have been relatively nice, but the recordings are irritating. I've threatened a few companies that I'll be hiring a lawyer if they continue to call me at all hours of the day and night because that amounts to harassment when I've clearly told you on more than one occasion that I am NOT Terry S., do not know him and have never met him in my life. I actually write down each company's name and the date when I've requested they remove my number. After a week, if I get another call, I let them have it. Usually effective, but nothing is going to be 100% til dippy doo stops giving my number out on his new debts!
