I play them with people every week. I usually play skipbo, triple four, rummy, 500, s**t on your neighbor and other little card games.

My card games are limited to Rummy and Uno. They were the entertainment on caravan trips as a child. I can't say I have an urge to learn any others.

My favorite card game is "up the river, down the river" although it's known by other names too. Basically before each round everyone bets on how many tricks they think they will win depending on what trumps has been revealed as. At least one person will clag and lose their bet each round. You get points for every trick you get and for betting correctly.

I have fond memories of this game as we often play at on one side of my family when we have family gatherings e.g at Christmas. I love how unpredictible my opa (Dutch for grandpa) is. Sometimes he will just bid crazily to throw people off and make them clag and at other times he'll play strange cards in order to help someone out. However you never know what he's going to do.:giggle:

I don't know many card games but I enjoy learning new ones. It's a great ice breaker and always gets people in a good mood.

When we went on vacation we always had a deck of cards with us. And when I visited my mom after dinner we would always play Uno.
