Just been reading about an elderly couple who wish to die together via assisted suicide so neither of them will be alone.

What are your thoughts on this? Is this something you agree with?

      Source: Mirror

I personally feel it should be allowed, if they are both happy to do it and it's what they want then who is anyone to tell them otherwise.

I don't see any problem with it.
It's legal in Belgium which is where they live, they have a doctor who is willing to help them and their children are in agreement

Mr Bat how the hell are you :)
It's not a case of bothersome elders in their case.Neither wants to be left without the other.

I don't really agree with that.I mean those old guys are okay with dying but their children love them. Isn't that right?
They can't possible watch their parents death just because their parents wished for it.

It states in the article that their children are in agreement with it.

If it was your parents wish to both go at same time would you stop it from happening and leave the surviving parent to live out their life being unhappily ?

I've always believed that if one wishes to end their life then they should have the right to. However, the exception is when there is an illness involved or it's due to their belief in their religion to sacrifice themselves or simply because they feel guilty after a crime they've committed.

In some religions though, they believe that it is a sin to kill yourself regardless of your reason(s) behind it. So depending on the couples religious beliefs, wouldn't they be taking a chance at spending an eternity in hell rather than getting to go to heaven?

By the way, I'm not trying to be disrespectful. Just curious.

I guess when you look at it like that it could be the case yes. I wouldn't think though myself that someone who had beliefs like that would choose to take their own lives knowing that would be possible though.

Oddly enough, many elderly couples do die together or very close to it. I remember reading about a couple who died a few hours apart. I think they were married for 60+ years.
