    Anime/Manga Elfen Lied

It's that one anime, that people have still discussed, that you've heard of, somehow..

That one horror anime, with a psychopathic female lead, along with lots of gore and nudity...
Considered on par with Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni....(Well, by some, anyways..)

You feel that you would have nightmares forever, if you watched this....

On the contrary, let me prevent you from having wet pants(or skirts)..

Elfen Lied, in a sense, is a good horror anime, lasting about 13 episodes without much of any useless filler.

Gore? Yes, it's there, but more prominent in the first 8 minutes of episode 1(after the opening).

Nudity? Yes, but it's really portrayed in a non-erotic way, most of the time.

In terms, the voice acting is almost Resident Evil-quality(Excluding Lucy).

It's a bit unenthusiastic and dull, but not corny.

Now you may be thinking, "The voice acting may be "respectable", but the plot must be the saving grace!".

In some cases, yes, but there were a few things that didn't make sense..

Like "What's the symbolism behind the grandfather clock?", in later episodes.

The anime feels a bit rushed, at 13 episodes, since the manga was still going.

And you may think, "What's in it for us horror fans?"

Gore, sadism,Psychopathic pink-haired vixens(Well Lucy, anyways.),a sci-fi ish plot involving mutations,multi-personality disorder, racism(The horns have to count for this),animal cruelty(in one instance) and plenty of torture.

      Not to mention, some "tsunderes".

      The manga... well..

Well, the anime had a few perverted moments, but the manga has more.

Seriously, why would a Japanese schoolgirl be wearing a diaper? Beats me.

Either just a timid girl or some kind of mind screw.

Anyways, this isn't a review(I would give more details and stuff), but..

These are just my thoughts on this anime and manga.

So, anyone else manage to watch this anime or read the manga?

I'm not overly partial to horror anime. Higurashi had me scared enough and I'd presuppose it'll be the same with this one.

if you really need nudity, Elfen Laid will fix that.

but I've herd of this, need to check it out.

I watched all of the episodes of the anime recently and I think it's really good.
There is nudity, but no sex or anything, ;)

The storyline is really good and I'm glad I did not just ignore everything from the trailer.
Too many people said that it was a great anime and that's why I decided to watch it.

I've known about this for several years, and I must say it is not an anime I would ever watch, it sounds horrible. I am not a fan of horrors, and I hate innocent people getting killed, real or fake, so I wouldn't ever watch it.
