Did anyone else watch this yesterday on either youtube or a news channel? I was watching from when he took off from ground and it took him nearly 2 and a half hours to reach the height and for the pressure to drop enough for the door to open. It was truly amazing to watch. My stomach went just watching him drop so I can only imagine what it must have felt like for him.

One salute, a shuffle forward and then he just did a free fall and reached over 700mph breaking the sound barrier and was the first human to do so without the use of a vehicle. From what I understand he didn't break the record for the longest free fall as it seems there was some concern from him and others so the parachute was opened before he could break the record which I think still stands at 4 mins and 30 seconds.

For those who haven't see it you can view it below :)

I watched the whole thing. It was exhilarating and I'm sure my heart stopped when he stepped off the ledge of the capsule.

Yes I think everyone who watched was right there with him when he dropped. Just before he did and they was finishing the final checks I was sat there thinking to myself "No, he can't do this". Big sigh of relief when he touched the ground back on earth.

I watched it as well. Couldn't get over his smooth landing.

I watched this from 40,000 feet on his way up. It was hard to believe he was going to do that. So high up, it's ridiculous. Me and my family all screamed "oh my god" when he jumped off the capsule. It was amazing. It was scary when he started tumbling.
