So, maybe its just me, but I hate it when people mistake me as a he. But yeah, that occurs a lot on fora and on internet. Does it gripe you? Peeve you? For me, it does. F***, G***** read the profiles.

Maybe they wouldn't make that mistake if your profile actually stated your gender :). At the moment it doesn't :)

it annoys me when I address a person, their username and pic can make me think of their gender there not.

When I first started out on forums I was quite weary myself of giving too much detail so wouldn't really give away much and I used to get mistaken for a male when I was a female, it did become quite annoying but in the end I got the confidence to give out more detail about myself like gender and age, shocked alot of people when they realised I wasn't male :)

      rules of the internet:
#30. There are no girls on the internet.

Well the numbers of the rules of the internet aren't always the same, but there are a few that never change.

It was a name I randomly picked a while back when I ran a different forum :) wanted to use something other than my real name and fancied a change from my nicknames and that was the one I came up with :)

It can get a bit confusing sometimes for some people when I use the username of 'Sam' for a lot of forums as it could be Samuel or Samantha but Samious doesn't really sound like a girl and besides, if it is on your profile then it isn't hard to know which gender you are!

People tend to think I am a female because I usually use females as my avatar, and it drives me nuts. People shouldn't assume things, and people should really at least do some researching on the users profile at least.
Especially when there is a gender profile field and it specifically says RIGHT THERE that I am a dude, and they still ask me if I am a boy or a girl.
Like on here, we can see what gender someone is, under our avatars. Someone asked me if I was a girl or a boy, even though that forum had the same thing as here. For whatever reason, they didn't think to look under my avatar to find that I am male.

Well I would be happy if people simply learned the difference between gender and sex.

Why are you typing in Shakespearian? The rule is usually because most websites are like 90% male. Though I'm hoping womens-health.com's forums are full of women instead of men.
