I think that with the serious lack of public toilets there are instances when it is totally unavoidable.
Having said that I also think it should be done as discretely as possible.

I can see why many find it discusting to be honest as depending on where people choose to do it, it can in time get smelly unless someone cleans that area but then you have that problem of not many public toilets and people have problems waiting for a while to find one so in which case I don't see a problem myself with people doing it as long as it is as said done discreetly and away from public eye.

I haven't seen many of those just recently, the last ones I saw where in Hull I think and it was 10p to use the toilet and their sign said to stop misuse of the toilets.

Not sure how it would work to be honest as I am pretty sure anyone who wants to get in and vandal the toilets would have 10p at hand.

Well if I'm standing behind a dumpster where no one can see my hoo hoo didly, I should be fine with taking a leak in public.

So long as no one sees it and it's not done where most people walk, I say it's cool.

Am I the only person who didn't know there was a fine?

That is shocking, makes you wonder if they just don't provide enough places so people do get fined so they make some extra cash.

Not sure what it is here where I live myself, you always see people doing it on the street though usually young youths who if you said something to them or even looked they would retaliate. It's not good to be honest as they don't exactly do it out of sight so if you have the kids with you.

In the city I don't agree with it. Get a bit on the nose. But in the country you are driving along and nature calls. Find a tree and away you go. Done it many a time as many others have.

The only time I have been in a public place. We were caught in a 5 hour traffic jam heading for Paris. Everyone was finding places to go including me. We all lined up like little statues, laughing. You couldn't do anything about it. It was either that or do it in the car.

I was once taking a mini bus full of off duty Policemen to the Rugby at Twickenham, the beer flowed on the way down and they thought nothing of getting out on the A30 in the traffic jam, having a leak and then catching the Mini Bus back up.

It is the old saying isn't it. Do as I say not as I do. It is really no wonder many people do not have much respect for the Police.

Where I live there is only one public loo and you need 20p to use it plus its no where near the shops
I have IBS and a weak bladder and I have had a few arguments with cafe owners not letting me use their loo unless I eat there
I now have to carry a card which makes them let me use the loo
I have been caught short on way home one day so I did jump behind a tree
I agree there should be more public loo`s and for free

Well i don't think there is a problem going behind a bush where you can't see but i'm not sure about a public place!
