So yeah, noticed there isn't a thread about martial arts? Anyway, martial arts comprise of: Tai-Kwan-Do, Karaté and some other forms. Some people mistake Yoga as a kind of martial arts, when its not really. Yoga's a form of meditation, and sport to relax, whereas Martial Arts is for defending oneself and fighting.

I practise Yoga thrice a week, it helps me to control my mind, feel relax and most of all keep me in a good shape, as far as I concern Yoga and Martial Art is two different kind of acts.

I agree with you both Yoga and Martial Arts are both two completely different things, I agree that both do give you a good workout and can help you stay healthy but I feel that is the only thing they both have in common to be honest.

I have tried Yoga myself which I find very relaxing and a great way to stay active however I have never tried martial arts but after seeing it done and knowing what it is martial arts is definitely one for defence rather than relaxation.

Kung Fu's a thing of the past already, so don't dwell on that thought!

I had a chance to take up martial arts when I was young, I turn it down and I wish I didn't.

I think so many did, I remember one person I knew at school had a chance to do either Karate or Martial Arts and he chose Karate. He regrets it now as he feels he would have been better doing Martial Arts than Karate.

Martials Arts covers more forms of martial arts, I can explain it that way: Karaté's a kind or type of Martial Arts, such as the Kung Fu and etc.

Well I still had a fair bit to go to be a black belt. I think the order was White, Yellow Tag, Yellow, Green Tag, Green, Blue Tag, Blue, Red Tag, Red and then Black :) I just got board of it at the time I guess, maybe i should have continued, might come in handy someday.
