Had to see it confirmed before I believed it but it's true! Microsoft have listened to their fans and they have decided to make a reversal on their decisions for always online and DRM meaning that the only time you will need an online connection is when you set the console up for the first time and you will also be able to lend out and trade in games at your own discretion aswell as take your console to a friends house to play your games.

What are your thoughts on this huge announcement from Microsoft? Are you happy to see this or is there more you would like to see changed before you will consider purchasing?

I thought before that it was unfair not to be able to trade your own games as you wish. So I think they've taken a step in the right direction.

I agree, when they said that no trading in and lending out was one of their policies it was something that put me off. I could not understand how it would be fair to make a gamer pay for a game at the price they charge and then still feel as though they had the right to tell them what they could do with the game. I am very happy to see them make this change as well as the always online policy. Kind of hoping that they change the Kinect always needed but I think that may be pushing it too far. :)

I think it's purely a reversal to save losing loads of customers and money.

Now there is a petition out to undo this, this whole thing is a circus joke.

I agree, always when a change is made a petition is made by the ones who do not like the change. I had read the other day that someone who works for Microsoft had said that this petition was being discussed so whether or not that means they may be doing another U-turn at a later date is still uncertain but they are definitely considering something if they are discussing.

I just don't trust the effectiveness of video game petitions since most of them feel like complete jokes.

My favorites are petitions on games that are announced for multiplat and petitions are up to "convince" the company to make it on their favorite console.

Since DRM is being removed with a day one update to the Xbox one, I always believed that it will come back but more slowly and clearly.
