What are your thoughts on these new more powerful machines? Sony is due to release the PS4 Pro version which will handle 4K video and upscaling of 4K to most games or even have patches for games to run 'natively' in 4K. The Xbox One Scorpio is said to have 4K native support as well. What are your thoughts on the two? Will you be upgrading your console(s) to these more powerful & capable versions when they're released? How do you feel about Sony and Microsoft releasing 'upgrades' to their hardware line?

I think it's great they have made major upgrades to their systems, as of right now not thinking of upgrading but I may further down the line.

Definitely upgrading to the Scorpio when it launches, but I'm not sure if I'll upgrade to the PS4 Pro yet.

I still need to get a PS4 system and with the pro having extra RAM to boost gaming process I think I will get it but I'm still waiting for final reviews from the fans.

I'd say if you were gonna get a PS4 anyway, the Pro is just the better option. No real need to wait for fan feedback. Fans loved the initial console so a more powerful one seems like a no brainer, yes?

As for me, I'm gonna probably buy the Scorpio first as I tend to play on Xbox One more nowadays (no thanks to my girlfriend twisting my arm to get an xbox in the first place :p)

The whole display thing though and if developers will make use of the PS for HDTVs (Which is what I have) is leaving me a bit confused.

Using a PS4 Pro on a non-4k display is fine, it will render everything in 1080p like a regular PS4 would. PS4 only runs in an HDTV so if you're using a non-HD display that might be where your problem lies.

I do have HD tv that goes up to some 1000 resolution. But I know there is some issue of some past game of maybe not working right on it.

Plus I have to find out how big of a TB HDD I can slap into a Pro versus a regular PS4.

Pretty sure it's the same as far as hard drives go.

As far as I'm aware, the Pro will run games in 1080p if they don't have 4K support or you're not on a 4K tv/monitor as they would on a normal PS4.

Sounds like I will be getting the pro, just need a nice bundle to come out for it.
