If you want to make it so they'll think twice in future the penalties need to be hard.

Couldn't agree more. I really can't understand some people they say that the rioters and looters should be severely punished yet when they are they then complain that it is too harsh. All they are doing is backing down on their word and the more they do it the more they will think it's not too bad and go ahead and do it again. They have to be harsh not let them walk all over them.

      Several people have died.

Harsh penalties? only too right in my book.

I heard on the news yesterday that people where getting 4 years for posting and egging on the riots via Facebook. In my book if you are condoning the riots you deserve to be punished especially since the riots you pushed for via a social networking site caused death and severe damage and loss to innocent people.

Really? That is a shock lol but no I agree whether anyone turned up or not doesn't make the difference in my eyes to be honest they still attempted which to me is an offence either way and they should be punished, even with 4 years they will do less with good behaviour so it is more than enough.
