What music was played in your house during your childhood? I remember all sorts of different music, but the ones I remember being played most were ABBA (gold), Metalica (black album) and Queen (made in heaven - I think).

I grew up listening to old country music. I'm talking Conway Twitty, Merle Haggard, Loretta Lynn, George Jones type of music. That's the type of music my mom always listened to. When I got older I started listening to more popular music, I like Bon Jovi, Guns-n-Roses, and Aerosmith myself. However, the clasic country stuck with me, I find myself looking for it on the radio every now and then. Some of those songs were pretty good.

We usually just listen to a radio when I was younger. So, I could also listen to almost all kind of music but not metal rock kind of music since we usually choose a station that plays pop, RnB, mellow rock and some other old local songs. I also remember we have very few cassette tapes of Matt Monroe and Frank Sinatra (my grandfather collection). And also some of Abba songs.

My brother would usually turn up the volume and start singing with Duran Duran and Fra Lippo Lippi. It's pretty crazy but loads of fun. I guess he influenced me enough that I usually go for Alternative music when I grow up. :runaway:

Classic 80s rock. But I'll listen to anything but heavy rap. Like Bruce Springsteen!

I have two major music memories from when I was a kid. First, we had a giant stereo system, which was probably smaller than I remember because the components were sitting on top of the speakers but I was probably 4 or 5 before I could reach the turntable to play a record. But I could run the radio at a pretty young age and had an AM "oldies" station that I'd listen to almost all day every day. The signal cut out after dark but it ran most of the day.

Second was my mom worked in the local cafe/bar and I spent a lot of time there with her listening to the 70's and 80's country music that was on the jukebox. That's about where my interest in country music ends. I'm not a big fan of the more recent stuff but I still occasionally enjoy the old country songs. :)
