Air conditioning in a car is a wonderful thing on a day like this :) I had to use the aircon myself when I was doing my driving lesson this morning because it was so warm and having the windows open did not help. I can understand why your wife will be happy now :)

Mine had a small leak a few years ago and I never repaired it, finally the bearings on the clutch went bad and was very noisy so I just removed the entire system when I did an engine change earlier in the year. Until recently I could do without the air conditioning but I think I might get it back in working order again for when I move back to Houston. Haven't made up my mind just yet since the Truck is quite old and it would not make it worth any more. If I were smart I would just stop driving it and get something a little newer and smaller. I really hate to sell the Truck since it is a classic and they are so hard to find now, you see them sitting here and there but none on the road, an 82 is not that old but in vehicle age it certainly is. Just about every vehicle I have owned since 1970 would have been worth a lot of money had I still owned them, many Mustangs and Torinos and various other jewels. One Ford Torino a 1968 was a 428 cobra-jet square back two door, they only made 500 ! I just gave the car away in 75 for nothing, back then we had no idea they would be worth so much now. I saw one that brought 85,000, I promptly cried. ;0(

As long as there is a good breeze I can do without the AC as well but if I got something in the car (food, old/young people) then I use it.
