Nintendo have revealed the specifications for their new console Wii U at their E3 conference, here are details.

The Wii U's full specifications and software launch schedule has been released by Nintendo.

The console features 1080p HD video support, contains an IBM Power-based multi-core CPU and an AMD Radeon-based High Definition GPU.

It features multiple video outputs, including HDMI, Wii D-Terminal, Wii Component Video, Wii RGB, Wii S-Video Stereo AV and Wii AV.

It uses six-channel PCM linear output via the HDMI connector, or analog output via the AV Multi Out connector.

The console measures in at 1.8"x10.5"x6.8", and weighs approximately 1.5kg.

I hear the controller only has a batter life of 3-5 hours, less depending on the light settings and stuff.

Well if the controller is rechargable like the PS3 controller, I don't see much of a problem.

It looks pretty spiffy, I wonder how they'll utilize the 2 z buttons, unless you can just use whichever.

But having to recharge the controller constantly can get tiring to be honest (worst if the battery runs out every 3.5 hours).
Unless, you're able to charge the controller while you're playing the game, ;)

Well most things nowadays charges while you use it, though personally I don't think I can fit in 5 hours of gaming in one day anyway.

It's not only about you, it's about all of the gamers.
There are people that wants to "game" for over 5 hours, you know, ;)

I wasn't trying to say it was only for me.

I don't see the big deal about plugging it in and playing it while it's charging. I do this with my PS3 controller and my DS when their batteries run low.

If it runs on normal batteries I can see the concern. 3-5 hours is not that bad of a battery life.

This console is 5 years too late from Nintendo. They're going HD in 2012/13. Anyways, still waiting up for it :)
