Who is your favourite author when it comes to reading books?

For me it would have to be Stephen King when it comes to reading a book. When I was younger I always used to love reading books by Enid Blyton :)

I love historic novels, so the best for me are Tim Severin and Robert Low. I really want to start reading some Bernard Cornwall books but there are so many.

Another one of my favourite authors is Derek Landy, He writes children's fiction novel Skulduggery Pleasent. I know it's a kids book, I am 24 but he writes so well, very enjoyable adventure books.

Jodi Picoult. For me she's just the right distance between chick lit and serious novels.

If you haven't read anything from either author then you're missing out.

Ugh, I have a lot of favorites. Hmm...I'll just say Alyson Noel. Her stuff most often touches me emotionally and often nearly has me in tears.

My favorites are Stephen King and Theodore Dreiser. I liked almost everything what I read from them.
I also like some of the books by G.G. Marquez and F.S. Fitzgerald.

My favourite ones are H.P.Lovecraft, and Eoin Colfer.
I like the massive horror mythos that Lovecraft created and its psychopathological expressions of the human subconscious, it's like taking a field trip at a Jungian analysis of his own psyche.
Eoin Colfer is the author of a book series called "Artemis Fowl", which is about the adventures of a devious and almost evil genious teen in stealing the gold from the Fae...which escalates to a whole new eschelon of trouble. It's a book kind of like Harry Potter, but with more doubious morality involved.
