What was your first online venture? Did you start off small or aim straight for the big time?

When I started I launched a few sites within a few days of each other, so what exactly came first I don't remember. One was a image host, another a celebrity wallpaper site and lastly a few blogs on various niches. Most proved to be non profitable and eventually were shut-down/forgotten about, but I sold a few of the blogs.

My first online venture was a free website made by Geocities which I understand isn't around anymore. I was a big fan of a singer and I made a fan site based on him. Worked really hard on it and really enjoyed it. No longer around now though which is a shame.

My first venture was a success. I was one of the owners of a brand new basketball (NBA) message board in 2002. We did so well the next 4 four years, we were made an offer to sell in 2006 that we could not refuse, It is still going today, but it has gone down hill since our departure.

My first venture in the online world is currently starting-up right. Now, we're registering a domain and just need to get it up and running!

That's a shame Castle, I am sorry to hear about that. Always the case though which is a shame you get an offer and choose to sell and then the new owners end up letting it go and it ends up being nothing. Do you ever regret taking them up on their offer?

That sounds good Haze :) I hope it goes really well for you :D

We all did. The offer was way more than we could let slide. However, the forum is not what it was, or what it could have been since then.

We started another sports forum and no its not the one you are thinking of. That being said it is not the same as the forum we had.

Got to love Geocities :) it was a shame they let that go to be honest as it was a great free place. Brings back alot of memories of when I created my site :)

Hm this is interesting. How much can you sell a blog for anyway? That is my first online venture and I think it is going well so far but I am just starting out so we will see!

It was great, sad to see that it is no longer around now if it was I probably would still use it for something as it was great.
